Gilbert Hermann Tezel, age 87, of Mico, passed away July 2, 1996. He was born February 2, 1909 on the family farm in Bexar county, TX to his parents, Charles and Lena Braun Tezel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvera K. Steubing Tezel and his parents. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Vernon Schuchart of Culebra Rd.; grandsons and their wives, Dale and Alva Schuchart of Rio Medina, TX and Chris and Vivian Torres Schuchart, of Culebra Rd.; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister, Thelma Ahrens of San Antonio, TX. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 4, 1996, from 2:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at Tondre-Guin Funeral Home and on Friday, July 5, 1996, from 8:30 A.M. to 9:55 P.M.(sic) at Zion Lutheran Church in Helotes, TX. Funeral Service will be Friday, July 5, 1996, at 10:00 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, Helotes, TX. Interment will follow the Funeral Service in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Helotes, TX. Mrs. Elvera Steubing Tezel, 79, of Mico, passed away February 15, 1990. Survived by: Husband, Gilbert Tezel of Mico; daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Vernon Schuchart of San Antonio; grandsons and their wives, Dale and Alva Schuchart, Chris and Maysie Schuchart of San Antonio; great-grandchildren, Leland, Erin, Lindon, Kathryn, Josh and Sarah Schuchart, all of San Antonio. Visitation at Tondre-Guinn Chapel will be form 2:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. with family present from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Friday, February 16, 1990. Funeral service on Saturday, February 17, 1990, 3:00 P.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Helotes. Interment will follow at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Helotes. 3. Thelma C.2 TEZEL (Charles W.1) was born November 24, 1906, and died May 04, 1998 in Bexar Co., TX. She married Harry R. AHRENS, son of Edward AHRENS and Mary AHRENS. He was born November 23, 1895, and died September 21, 1992 in Bexar Co., TX.

Notes for Thelma C. TEZEL:

Thelma Caroline (Tezel) Ahrens died May 4, 1998 at the age of 91. She was born November 24, 1906 to Lena and Charles Tezel in San Antonio. She lived her whole life in the Helotes and San Antonio areas. Harry R. Ahrens became her husband May 20, 1925 at Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes. Survivors are their four children, Ruth Moorman and husband, Tommy; Audrey Boezinger; June Davidson and husband, Buddy; and Charles Ahrens and wife, Beverly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry and son-in-law, Otto Boezinger. Thelma was always giving care to family, friends and her church. Many relatives made their home for short periods of time in her home. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter with another one on the way. She was active in St. John's Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes. She did everything from Sunday School teacher to President of the Women's Group. She was also a member of St. Luke's Auxiliary. Many will miss her gentle ways, loving smile and sincere love of others. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock at Porter loring North.

Mr. Ahrens was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes, a veteran of World War I and a member of VFW Post 7108. Survivors: wife of 67 years, Thelma C. Ahrens; children, Ruth Moorman and her husband, Tom, Audrey Boezinger, June Davidson and her husband, Howard, and Charles Ahrens and his wife, Beverly; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Alfred Ahrens and his wife, Sabina; numerous nieces and nephews.   SERVICE FRIDAY--2:00 P.M. 5. Ruth Irene3 AHRENS (Thelma C.2 TEZEL, Charles W.1) was born September 18, 1926. She married Thomas "Tommy" Adair MOORMAN, son of Adair MOORMAN and Maggie MOORMAN. He was born November 22, 1922 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX, and died July 14, 1999.

Notes for Thomas "Tommy" Adair MOORMAN:

Thomas Adair Moorman, age 76, passed away on July 14, 1999. He was born on November 22, 1922 in San Antonio to Maggie Lee and Adair Moorman. He was married to Ruth Irene Ahrens on August 12, 1945. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 19 years and retired at the rank of Major. He then went to work in Civil Service for 21 years. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; four children, daughter Karron Lewis and husband J.D.; sons Jim Moorman and wife Jaci, Scott Moorman and wife Jill, and Ken Moorman; grandchildren, Mark Lewis, Heather Lewis, Robert Moorman and Jacob Moorman; great granddaughter Madison Lewis. Tom was an avid country-western dancer. He and Ruth won dance contests frequently. He also loved to hunt and loved being out doors. He loved his children, grandchildren and great granddaughter very much. He will be missed by many friends and family members. Tom had a wonderful wit and was great at telling jokes and stories. Visitation will be held at Porter Loring North from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 15, 1999.
