Descendants of William PATTERSON I am still researching this line. Anyone with a possible connection please contact me. Updated Jun 28, 2007 Generation No. 1 1. William1 PATTERSON was born Abt. 1783 in NC. He married unknown (maiden name ?) PATTERSON. Have found no connection or proof) Children of William PATTERSON and unknown PATTERSON are: + 2 i. James Henry2 PATTERSON, born Abt. 1819 in TN; died November 24, 1878 in Waco, McLennan Co., TX. 3 ii. Agnes PATTERSON, born November 27, 1818. She married Lafayette WARD 1835; born Abt. 1815. Generation No. 2 2. James Henry2 PATTERSON (William1) was born Abt. 1819 in TN, and died November 24, 1878 in Waco, McLennan Co., TX. He married (1) Lavina/Lavania/Lavonia O'NEAL February 24, 1838 in Gibson Co., TN, daughter of Hugh O'NEAL and Margaret TROUT. She was born 1816 in TN, and died Abt. 1866 in Waco, McLennan Co., TX. He married (2) Almedia Olivia BARRON September 27, 1872 in Waco, McLennan Co., TX, daughter of Thomas BARRON and Elizabeth CARNALL. She was born September 10, 1832 in Washington Co., TX, and died January 19, 1908 in Murray Co., TX. Notes for James Henry PATTERSON: My genealogy data was provided from my cousin Frances Jones Johnson, who lives in the Dallas area. She did extensive research many years ago. Between the time James and his wife got married in 1838 and before their first child was born (1839), they moved from TN to AR. James would have been about 19 years old. Was a rancher and farmer in AR until the Civil War. After the war, he moved his 1st wife and their children to Waco, McLennan Co., TX arriving 7-4-1865. In Waco, he opened a boarding house and dabbled in local politics. He was very successful in his business adventures and was quite wealthy when he died. Served in the Civil War 1861-1865. He joined the Army in Arkansas. He has a CSA marker at his gravesite in the Greenwood Cemetary in East Waco (historic cemetary). Other Patterson family members are buried here. I understand this cemetary is located in a bad section of town. Have seen a few pictures of the surroundings. Link to East Waco Greenwood Cemetary - Waco, TX http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tx/mclennan/cemeteries/greenwood.txt Van Buren Co., AR - He was part of a group from many AR counties for the Ordinance of Secession of AR on May 6, 1861. There are no Patterson's on the 1840 Crawford Co., AR census. So James Henry must have lived in a different county. He had to be in AR because one of his children was born in AR before 1840. 1840 Bayou, Chicot Co., AR James Patterson age bet 40-50, female bet 15-20, female bet 30-40 (does not match James H.
