Historic and Famous Relations
Names added regularly - See list below
We all are special in our own way. We all may not be famous and recognized in history. It is interesting to know we are related to someone well known who has made their name in history in some fashion. Below is a list of famous people in my family tree. I may not be directly related as marriage may have brought these people in
the family. These are people who I find to have been most interesting. Some may not be as well known and famous in the eyes of the United States or the World. Thank You, Diann Wehmeyer Tooley
If you find you are related to anyone in my family tree (over 16,000 individuals) and you feel they contributed to their community, their state, the United States or the World, email me with the information. They deserve to be recognized on this page. Even if they were bad people, let's hear about them.
What does it mean to be "removed"?
When the word "removed" is used to describe a relationship, it indicates that the two people are from different generations. You and your first cousins are in the same generation (two generations younger than your grandparents), so the word "removed" is not used to describe your relationship.
The words "once removed" mean that there is a difference of one generation. For example, your mother's first cousin is your first cousin, once removed. This is because your mother's first cousin is one generation younger than your grandparents and you are two generations younger than your grandparents. This one-generation difference equals "once removed."
Twice removed means that there is a two-generation difference. You are two generations younger than a first cousin of your grandmother, so you and your grandmother's first cousin are first cousins, twice removed.
